Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV)
"Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."
Joy is not happiness. Happiness depends on what happens. Joy is deeper — it's a settled confidence in God that holds even when circumstances are hard.
Nehemiah said the joy of the Lord is your strength. Not your talent. Not your training. Not your team. Joy. The kind that comes from knowing who God is and what He has done — and that nothing can take that away from you.
You can serve from a place of joy even when you're tired, even when you're discouraged, even when the score isn't in your favor. Because your joy is not based on the score. It's based on the One who already won.
Lord, fill me with Your joy — not the kind that depends on circumstances, but the kind that comes from knowing You. Let it be my strength today. Amen.
I block the lie that joy depends on my circumstances. The joy of the Lord is my strength — and it holds regardless of the score.
Philippians 4:4 (NIV)
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"
