Proverbs 11:3 (NIV)
"The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity."
Integrity means you play the same game whether the coach is watching or not. Whether the ref sees it or not. Whether anyone is in the stands or not. You are who you are — consistently.
The world is full of people who perform for the crowd and fall apart in private. God is looking for something different: people whose private life matches their public life. People who are the same on the court and off it.
Integrity isn't perfection. It's consistency. It's choosing to do the right thing even when no one is watching — because Someone always is.
God, make me a person of integrity. Help me to be the same person in private that I am in public — and to honor You in both. Amen.
I block the lie that it only matters when people are watching. God sees everything — and I choose to live with integrity in every area of my life.
Luke 16:10 (NIV)
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."
Is there a gap between who you are in public and who you are in private? What does that look like?
What is one area of your life where you need to close that gap this week?
