Colossians 3:13 (NIV)
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
Unforgiveness is the heaviest thing you can carry onto the court. It slows you down. It clouds your vision. It poisons your team.
You cannot serve well while holding a grudge. The teammate who wronged you. The coach who cut you. The parent who wasn't there. The friend who betrayed you. Carrying that weight will cost you more than letting it go ever will.
Forgiveness is not saying what they did was okay. It's saying you refuse to let it own you anymore. Forgive as the Lord forgave you — completely, freely, without conditions.
Jesus, You forgave me when I didn't deserve it. Give me the strength to extend that same grace to others. Set me free to serve. Amen.
I block the lie that holding onto unforgiveness protects me. Forgiveness sets me free — and I choose to forgive as Christ has forgiven me.
Matthew 6:14 (NIV)
"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."
Is there someone you are carrying unforgiveness toward right now?
What would it look like to make the decision to forgive — even before you feel it?
