Acts 3:19 (NIV)
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
Repentance is not just feeling bad about what you did. It's turning around. Changing direction. Going a different way.
In volleyball, if you're serving out of bounds, feeling bad about it doesn't fix anything. You have to adjust. Change your angle. Correct your form. That's repentance — not just remorse, but a real change of direction.
And here's what makes repentance powerful: it's not just about stopping something bad. It's about receiving something good. Times of refreshing come from the Lord when you turn back to Him. Repentance is the door to renewal.
Lord, I turn to You. Not just away from what's wrong — but toward You. Bring the refreshing that only comes from Your presence. Amen.
I block the lie that repentance is just about guilt and shame. Repentance is a turn toward God — and it opens the door to His refreshing.
2 Corinthians 7:10 (NIV)
"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death."
What is the difference between godly sorrow (repentance) and worldly sorrow (just feeling bad)?
Is there something in your life right now that you need to repent of — not just feel bad about, but actually turn from?
